The following will help you understand and prepare for the application processes for a Student Visa and Resident Permit.

Student Visas

All students from outside Ghana must request a Student Visa from the Ghanaian Embassy or consulate in their home country or country of resident before entering Ghana. Tourist Visas are not accepted for study purposes and Webster University Ghana will not allow students to register for courses with a Tourist Visa. For the most up-to-date information or for answers to detailed questions, please contact the Ghanaian Embassy or Consulate nearest to you.

IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ECOWAS AND NON-ECOWAS NATIONALS (STUDENT)

As a newly admitted international student of Webster University, Ghana, the information below is essential to process your resident permit in Ghana. Kindly prepare all the needed documents and make available the finance required for this purpose. A Webster Ghana staff, Ohui Afriyie-Depay (Eunice), will be your liaison with the Immigration Office in Ghana. All international students will be put in contact with Eunice during the first week of arrival.

Non-ECOWAS students will have to secure their visa before arrival. However the process of extending the visa/resident permit will be done while in Ghana.

ECOWAS passport holders will be issued a resident permit on arrival. The extended stay for such students would be processed while in Ghana. You will be required to apply for Non-Citizenship ID first and upon receiving that, you can apply for your student permit.
