Understand and prepare for the application processes for a student visa and resident permit.
All students from outside Ghana must request a student visa from the Ghanaian Embassy or consulate in their home country or country of residence before entering Ghana. Tourist visas are not accepted for study purposes, and Webster University Ghana will not allow students to register for courses with a tourist visa. For the most up-to-date information and answers to detailed questions, please contact the Ghanaian Embassy or consulate nearest to you.
Student Visas and Resident Permits
For a newly admitted international student of Webster Ghana, the information below is essential to process your resident permit in Ghana. Prepare all documents and make financial information available. A Webster Ghana staff member, Ohui Afriyie-Depay (Eunice), will be your liaison with the Immigration Office in Ghana. All international students will be put in contact with Eunice during the first week of arrival.
Passport holders from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will be issued a resident permit on arrival. You will be required to apply for a Non-Citizenship ID first. Upon receiving that, you can apply for your student permit. Resident permit extensions can be processed while in Ghana.
Non-ECOWAS students need to secure their visa before arrival. Visa extensions can be processed while in Ghana.
