As part of Webster University's commitment to diversity, excellence and global citizenship,
the Ghana campus hosted the North American Women’s Association (NAWA) for a special
event, "Women as Global Change Makers."
NAWA, which is a volunteer organization with membership of over 400 women from 50 different nationalities, is dedicated to promoting friendship, cultural activities and supporting charitable projects throughout the country.
Women from a range of diverse backgrounds attended the event to participate in the interactive session. Two distinguished Webster Ghana faculty members, Esther Armah, an international award-winning journalist, and Kim Suweon, an expert in international relations, spoke on the theme.
Abiola Bawuah, the chief executive officer of United Bank of Africa (UBA) – Ghana, also shared her perspective on the panel.
The women shared their thoughts on re-imagining their worlds, finding balance in their multifaceted roles as professional women and making a difference in society.
The event ended with a networking session and reception, allowing women to share and connect with other women of diverse backgrounds.Members of the audience were also encouraged to apply for admission into Webster University to pursue degrees in international relations, business and media communications at the campus in Accra, Ghana.
