The GPS Leadership Series

Life continues to present innumerable, unexpected surprises and challenges that are complex and difficult to overcome. The global marketplace has been defined by Warren Bennis as Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) and is affecting individual feelings of comfort and security.
Volatile: Things change unpredictably, suddenly, extremely, especially for the worse.
Uncertain: Valuable information is not known or definite, doubtful, unclear about the present situation and future outcomes, not able to be relied upon.
Complex: Many different and connected parts: multiple key decision factors, interaction between diverse agents, emergence, adaptation, co-evolution, weak signals.
Ambiguous: Open to more than one interpretation; the meaning of an event can be understood in diverse ways.
Rapid changes in the economic, political, and environmental landscape — such as natural disasters, technological advances, data breaches, or new business regulations — can cause insecurity and uncertainty. Uncertainty in business references situations where businesses face risks that can’t be foreseen or measured. During these times, elevated levels of stress and anxiety among employees can negatively impact performance and results.
The Global Positioning for Success (GPS) Leadership Series which culminates in a summit is designed to empower leaders and provide them the opportunity to access Webster’s global prowess and resource center. It is a blended learning experience with live, interactive presentations and breakout sessions.
